Upon completion of the course students will be able to:

Course description

Management is the most important activity in any organization as it is the one that determines and harmonizes the activities of its individual members to achieve a common goal.

Educational organizations have a wide range of characteristics that differentiate them from other organizations, thus making the role of the teacher in Administration in an educational organization particularly complex. The effective exercise of this role is directly related to the acquisition of comprehensive knowledge and further deepening on the one hand, in basic concepts and principles that govern the scientific field of Management, on the other hand, in the parameters of Management that differentiate it when referring to the organization and management of a teacher. organization.

This course discusses several aspects of both the theoretical and practical aspects of the management of educational organizations.

More specifically, in the first part, basic principles and theories of Management are explored, presenting the evolution of administrative thinking with references to basic concepts and theories that influenced the administration of Education such as bureaucracy, theory of Management through objectives, Systematic approach, theory of Mintzberg, the theory of Hersey and Blanchard, Total Quality Management, etc.

The second part focuses on the basic administrative procedures and their implementation in the educational field. More specifically, the role of leadership and management in educational organizations is examined, where references are made to theories and models of leadership and the characteristics of the effective leader, as well as to the decision-making process, theories of communication, motivation and motivation. , conflict and human capital management.
